BEDFORD REAL ESTATE - The 10 most expensive places to raise a family in the U.S.

In some spots in this country, it costs parents well into six figures just to eke by.
The amount that a two-parent, two-child family needs just to pay the bills (but not have money left over for savings) ranges from about $50,000 to more than $100,000 depending on where a family lives, according to data from the nonprofit and nonpartisan think tank the Economic Policy Institute.
“This does not mean a middle-class lifestyle,” says Elise Gould, a senior economist with EPI. “This is just living, no savings.”
The study looked at 618 metro areas and calculated the cost of living in each based on the costs of housing, child care, food, transportation, health care and other necessities (such as school supplies and clothing), as well as taxes.
Perhaps surprisingly, child care is the single most expensive line item for these families: In 500 of the 618 areas that EPI looked at, child care was parents’ biggest annual expense, averaging about $12,500 a year nationwide and climbing above $30,000 a year in one city.
Here are the 10 cities where it is most expensive for two parents to raise two children ...
3. Westchester County, N.Y.
Like Long Island, this suburban region outside New York City is notably pricey for families — $99,592 on average. The area shares many of the characteristics of Nassau–Suffolk County, including high taxes ($15,589 a year on average).

Here are a couple facts you may have not know about Drew and Jonathon:
10 PROPERTY BROTHERS FACTS

You’ve probably already heard the big news of 2013. No? HGTV’s Property Brothers have made People magazine’s list of Sexiest Men Alive! It’s a huge honor, of course, but we always knew they had it in them. Still, it got us thinking? We know that twin brothers Drew and Jonathan Scott are good-looking, talented and ever-so-popular with the ladies; but are there any secrets lurking beneath those tall, dark and handsome exteriors?  Let’s find out! Did you know…?

1.       Surprise! Their parents didn’t know they were having twins until the doctor saw Drew shortly after Jonathan was born. That had to be some shocking news, but lucky for Drew, no one could be disappointed with that face!

2.       Both Drew and Jonathan have experience in acting. Drew was on an episode of Smallville, while Jonathan was on The X-Files.

3.       The brothers bought their first house when they were only 17 years old! In college, they didn’t waste any time before flipping a house for a $50,000 profit.

4.       They started Dividian Production Group with their older brother JD in 2002. When he’s not impressing homebuyers with his amazing finds, Drew’s passionate about directing and producing.

5.       Because of their Scottish heritage, Drew and Jonathan were competitive bagpipers as children. Jonathan claims to have taken home all the medals, but Drew looks like he's holding his own in this picture.

6.       We knew they were a hilarious duo on the Property Brothers, but did you know that Drew and Jonathan Scott have their own sketch comedy group? If you’re lucky, you might even see them doing stand-up. Want to see them getting their laugh on behind the scenes?

7.       They grew up on a ranch in Vancouver, Canada, and started riding horses by the time they were 3 years old. No wonder they look so comfortable holding chickens (well, at least Jonathan does).

8.       Jonathan loves time on the stage so much that he can often be found performing illusions in Las Vegas. He even made his own props as a kid!

9.       They were included in Bob Dylan’s interactive music video. Be sure to flip to the "Home+" channel for the Property Brothers.

10.       When it comes to dating, both brothers like women who are spontaneous with a good sense of humor. A laid-back lady is a must! If you think you fit the bill, but you’re not sure which brother is right for you.
